The beach of Son Maties (Playa Son Maties / Platja de Son Maties) is one of the beaches of Palma Nova, located in the municipality of Calvia in the southwestern part of the island of Majorca, in 14 km from the centre of island's capital, Palma.
The beach of son Maties is the most southern beach of Palmanova.
It is located in the Palmanova Bay, where anchor small yachts and boats, between the Cape de Sa Torrenova (Punta de sa Torre Nova), which is the town and resort of Magaluf and Cape Nadal (Punta Nadala), separating the beach of son Maties from another beach of Palmanova has the same Palmanova beach (Playa Palmanova).
Currently, the beach of son Maties, along with other nearby beaches, is one of the most popular and frequented beaches of the island of Mallorca.
The beach has been awarded the "Blue flag".
The length of the beach of son Maties is about km and its average width equal to 100 meters.
On the beach of fine pale sand. Sea water is clean, sandy bottom, depth comes pretty quickly.
In the high beach season on the beach has all the necessary infrastructure: sunbeds and sun umbrellas (beach chair or umbrella 4,50 Euro), boxes and showers, toilets (EUR 0.50), dedicated place for water activities, there are service monitoring and first aid.
