Mermerli Beach, which translates as Marble Beach (Mermerli Plajı) is one of beaches of Antalya, which stands out for its history and location.
The beach of Mermerli is quite small.
It is located in the very center of Antalya - at the foot of a cliff, under the fortress walls of the old town (Kaleichi district), in a small rocky bay near the old port of Antalya.
Since the beach is located in the old town of Kaleici, it is also known as Kaleici Beach (Kaleiçi Plajı).
The beach has a horseshoe shape and a Blue Flag award.
Here the rocky coast alternates with rocky ledges.
There is sand on the beach in places and there are platforms that protrude into the sea waters. Sun loungers and umbrellas are placed on the beach and platforms.
With small children on the beach will not be very comfortable. But this is the only beach in the old town of Antalya (and one of two beach clubs in the historical center of the city, the second one is Adalar beach), where adults can spend a day or several hours in peace. Also, the beach attracts those guests who, for their placements in Antalya, they chose the old town and do not want to go (or walk) to other beaches.
The sea water is clean and calm. The bottom is pebble-rocky. The depth comes pretty quickly.
Above the beach of Mermerli, on the former city walls, there is the eponymous restaurant "Mermerli" with indoor and outdoor view terraces.
While on the beach, you can order drinks and light snacks, which the waiters deliver to the sun beds.
You can go to the beach through the restaurant, then down the wooden stairs.
Entrance to the beach is paid. The price includes sun beds and umbrellas, as well as a shower, toilet and locker room.
The cost of a sunbed for the whole day is 70 liras; two sun beds and an umbrella from the sun - 140 liras. You can enter and leave the beach many times, while the sunbed and umbrella will remain with you for the whole day. Payment is made at the restaurant.
