Village Otradnoe, Svetlogorsk

The village of Otradnoye, formerly Georgenswalde (German name Georgenswalde).

According to reviews, it was a "paradise place" on the Baltic Sea, where the Georgenswalde bathhouse was located, and the beach strip had a decent width.

As a resort, Georgenswalde began to form at the beginning of the 20th century, when large-scale construction in Georgenswalde unfolded, accompanied by the construction of a water tower, a railway station building, and local residents built country villas for summer holidays and the "Kurhaus Georgenswalde" with a garden overlooking the sea was erected.

Currently, the village of Otradnoye is a resort village of federal significance, located on the Baltic Sea coast, part of the Svetlogorsk urban settlement of the Kaliningrad region and located just 2 kilometers from the center of the city of Svetlogorsk.

Climate in Otradnoye

The climate of the resort village is mild, marine. The abundance of vegetation and the proximity of woodlands, both in Otradnoye and in Svetlogorsk as a whole, as well as the absence of industry, favor clean air.

In addition, in the summer months on the Baltic coast there is rarely a sweltering heat, mostly it is a comfortable air temperature. Precipitation is a frequent visitor to the Baltic coast.

All this: clean ionized air, abundance of greenery, sea and sandy beach, contribute to a favorable microclimate and, in general, a wonderful holiday in this part of the Baltic Sea coast of the Kaliningrad region.

The beach in Otradnoye

The beach in Otradnoye is a narrow strip running along the village and located under the slope of a hill, while the main infrastructure of the settlement is located on the hill.

Kurgan burial ground

Seven old hill mounds, family tombs, were discovered by the German archaeologist Herte. In the central parts of the mounds, urns of the V-I centuries BC were found, in which the ashes of the deceased rested.
