Hiking along the coast of the Curonian Spit: from Zelenogradsk to the village of Lesnoy, Kaliningrad region

On another sunny summer weekend, we again made a small hiking trip - this time a walking trip along the Baltic Sea coast of the Curonian Spit of the Kaliningrad region: from Zelenogradsk to the village of Lesnoy.

You can walk all the way along the sea line. On the one hand - the endless sea, on the other-the lush vegetation of the Curonian Spit.

All this saturates with energy, relaxes and gives a lot of impressions. At the end of the journey, you feel a pleasant fatigue in your body, and in your soul you become refreshed and rested.

Passage along the coast to the Curonian Spit is free (free of charge). Whereas on the carriageway by car or on foot through the checkpoint-paid.

The coastal strip along the route is mainly wide sandy, sometimes sandy-pebbly and with large pebbles.

On warm summer days, a walk can be combined with sunbathing and swimming in the sea waters. You can swim on this section of the Curonian Spit (as well as mainly on the entire spit) in any place you like.

The approximate length of the route is 10.7 kilometers. This is without walking around Zelenogradsk and Lesnoye, as well as visits to the route "Royal Bor".

On hot summer days, for such hiking routes, we advise you to wear a headdress, bring clean drinking water and fruit for a snack, and apply sunscreen to the exposed areas of the body. It is best to throw on (or take with you) a light loose shirt or jacket, as well as wear comfortable summer pants (shorts and a swimsuit can be taken with you). !!! All this is by personal desire.

The route starts from the eastern end of the Zelenogradsk promenade. There is a water entertainment point and a beach for people with disabilities. Learn more about the beaches and the promenade in Zelenogradsk…

A staircase is equipped from the coast, at the top of which there is an observation deck.

From the stairs, a path runs through the forest area, leading to the roadway of the spit and then to the ecological trail (a walking circular route) "Royal Forest".

The length of the route "Royal forest" is 2.9 kilometers. The route runs along a part of the Curonian Spit-on the 6-6. 5 kilometer of the spit.

The route "Royal Forest" passes through century-old coniferous trees, some of which were silent witnesses of royal hunts taking place on the spit since the 16th century. Along the route, an observation deck is equipped at the Curonian Lagoon. Learn more about the route "Royal Forest"…

Ahead you can see a red and white lighthouse and a beach in the village of Lesnoy.

So we reached our final point of the route - the village of Lesnoy, or rather to its beach and promenade.

The beach in Lesnoye is one of the best on the Baltic Sea coast of the Kaliningrad region.

The beach is quite wide and sandy (the sand is fine and pleasant to the touch, light in color); there are small pebbles near the water's edge and in the sea.

On the beach, you can sit on your own beach towel, or rent a sun lounger and an umbrella from the sun.

Lifeguards are on duty on the beach, there is a first aid station.

Along part of the beach strip there is a promenade (embankment), where there are: changing cabins, showers, toilets, urns, bungalows, restaurants, a bar and kiosks with food and drinks with tables under the open sky, places for recreation and outdoor exercise equipment. Near the beach and the promenade there is a 3-star design hotel Mayakovsky, located on the first line and with direct access to the promenade and the beach.

The hotelfeatures: a Russian steam bath, seasonal indoor and outdoor heated pools with bars and sun beds near outdoor pools, a terrace with sea views, a spa complex, a children's playground, a restaurant, free parking and rooms with free Wi-Fi.

This hotel is considered one of the best on the Curonian Spit.
