Beach and promenade in Lesnoye on the Baltic Sea, Curonian Spit Kaliningrad Region

Lesnoy is a small residential village located in the narrowest part of the Curonian Spit (width 350 meters) Kaliningrad region.

Lesnoy is the first settlement of the spit, relative to the city of Zelenogradsk.

Lesnoy is a popular place for recreation, both among residents of the Kaliningrad region and guests of the region.

There are cafes and restaurants in the village, there are shops and accommodation facilities, as well as public bus stops and parking places, and, most importantly, what attracts vacationers is a beach and a promenade with all the necessary infrastructure on the Baltic Sea coast.

The beach of the Baltic Sea in Lesnoye is quite wide and sandy (the sand is fine and pleasant to the touch, light in color); there are small pebbles near the water's edge and in the sea.

The beach is public and publicly accessible (free of charge).

On the beach, you can sit on your own beach towel, or rent a sun lounger and an umbrella from the sun.

Lifeguards are on duty on the beach, there is a first aid station.

A promenade (embankment)runs along part of the beach strip.

On the promenade: changing booths, showers, toilets, urns, bungalows, restaurants, a bar and kiosks with food and drinks with tables under the open sky, places for recreation and outdoor exercise equipment.

From the beach, the lighthouse is clearly visible, which was installed on the seashore in 1982 and visually represents a large white-red "barrel" standing on four iron "legs", 40 meters high.

The former lighthouse in Lesnoye was washed away by a January storm in 1975, tilted and was dismantled. Now its concrete base can be seen on the beach near the promenade.

Access to the structure of the lighthouse is closed, since it is a navigation sign and carries a radio and a light beacon, the signal of which is visible in the sea and bay at a distance of up to 17 miles. Cellular repeater antennas are installed on the lighthouse.

Since sometimes in the dark the beam of the lighthouse picks out the silhouettes of couples in love on the coast, the lighthouse in Lesnoye is popularly called the "Floor Lamp of Love".

Near the beach and the promenade of the Baltic Sea in Lesnoye there is a 3-star design hotel Mayakovsky, located on the first line and with direct access to the promenade and the beach.

The hotelfeatures: a Russian steam bath, seasonal indoor and outdoor heated pools with bars and sun beds near outdoor pools, a terrace with sea views, a spa complex, a children's playground, a restaurant, free parking and rooms with free Wi-Fi.

This hotel is considered one of the best on the Curonian Spit.

Breakfast is included in the room rate. Link to the hotel
