Victory Square in Kaliningrad is the central square of the city.
Previously, the square was called Hansa-Platz, that is, Hanseatic Square, after the Nazis came to power - Adolf Hitler-Platz (Adolf Hitler Square).
Victory Square received its current name after the war.
Currently, it is not only the main square of the city, but also a place of concentration of many organizations and institutions, an important transport hub where the main arteries of the city meet - Leninsky, Sovetsky and Gvardeysky Avenues, Chernyakhovsky Street and Mira Avenue.
The square itself is very beautiful - it is the venue for many public holidays and events. On the square: places to relax, several fountains, flowers and low trees with lush crowns.
Visually, Victory Square is divided into two parts, the dividing line is Professor Baranov Street.
The center of the square is decorated withThe Triumphal Column or Victory Column, installed in 2005 on the eve of the 750th anniversary of the city, in 2013 the column was crowned with the Order of Victory.
The column has a height of 26 meters, is mounted on a four-sided pedestal, on the front side of which there is a bas-relief with the image of St. George, the Order of Victory and the inscription on the St. George ribbon: "Dedicated to the Great Victory 1941-1945".
A memorial sign, also installed on Victory Square in 2005 in honor of the 750th anniversary of the city.
The memorial sign is a metal eight-pointed star, a wind rose. In the center of the star is a disk with a stylized image of the Royal Gate and the inscription: "750 Kaliningrad 2005".
A special place on Victory Square is occupied byCathedral of Christ the Savior.
The Cathedral of Christ the Savior is an Orthodox church built according to the project of architect Oleg Kopylov. The temple is designed for 3,000 people. The height (up to the cross) reaches 51 meters.
Victory Square is surrounded by administrative and commercial buildings, a special place among which is occupied by: the city administration building, the shopping and entertainment center "Europe", the shopping center "Clover City Center" and the shopping center "Kaliningrad Passage" with characteristic "Kaliningrad" architecture.

- Kaliningrad-Severny railway Station (or Severny Railway Station) is the second most important station in Kaliningrad, after the Southern Railway Station. Kaliningrad-Severny is used for traveling around the region, while the South, in addition to regional destinations, accepts and sends trains and commuter trains to other regions of Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Adler);
- CCR is a large and, perhaps, the most popular market in Kaliningrad;
- two interesting routes that occupy a special place in the city and are among the most popular among tourists - Mira Avenue andLeninsky Prospekt.
Victory Square and its surroundings are an excellent solution for those who are interested in the main sights of the city, as well as the proximity of a transport interchange, both for the purpose of moving around the city and the region.
