Republic Square, Antalya (Cumhuriyet Meydanı): Ataturk monument, viewpoints and restaurants

Republic Square (Cumhuriyet Meydanı) is the main square and the heart of Antalya, where there is a monument to Ataturk, observation decks and panoramic restaurants.

Republic Square is located in the historical center of Antalya, near the old town of Kaleici.

This is the main place in the city for celebrations, concerts and major events, where numerous guests of the city and local residents also gather.

On Republic Square there is a monumental monument to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk (Monumento a Mustafa Kemal Ataturk), a famous historical figure and founder of the Republic of Turkey.

The monument is also known as the National Monument of the Ascension.

The sculptural composition was opened in 1964. The composition is mounted on a high pedestal made in the shape of a rock.

Republic Square is located above the rocky, precipitous coast, and it is equipped with glass viewing terraces, which offer wonderful panoramic views of the old city of Antalya, including red tiled roofs and Yivli minaret, part fortress walls (you can climb the wall and admire the views of the port and the sea) and old port.

Near the square there are panoramic restaurants and cafes, a park area with places to relax, Kaleichi panoramic elevator and a small fountain Antalya.
