Rosa Peak is one of the stations of the year-round mountain resort Rosa Khutor in Krasnaya Polyana (Esto-Sadok).
Rosa Peak is located on the Aibga ridge and is the second highest point of the ridge (an altitude of 2320 meters above sea level). The highest point of the ridge is the " Stone Pillar "(an altitude of 2509 meters above sea level). Nevertheless, it is Rosa Peak that is the most famous, visited and highest point of the Rosa Khutor ski complex directly accessible by lift.
Rosa Peak is the most visited, accessible all year round and easy to reach high point of the Rosa Khutor resort.
You can climb Rosa Peak in winter by ski passes and all year round by walking tickets (ascent without skating). The ascent is made on three cableways.
On the Rose Peak there is: an observation deck and observation points, a high-altitude restaurant, ski slopes, toilets, a first aid station,as well as some entertainment.
Observation deck and restaurant on Rosa Peak
The Rosa Peak observation deck, located at an altitude of 2320 meters above sea level, offers stunning panoramic views. In good weather, these are views of the Caucasus Mountains, including the Aibga Mountains, as well as the Black Sea.
During our winter ascent to Rosa Peak, the weather did not really" smile " and, as a result, we did not manage to fully admire the gorgeous views.
On the site of Rosa Peak there is a high-altitude restaurant "Height 2320" from the panoramic windows of which there is a view of the Main Caucasian Ridge, Mount Aibga and the Black Sea.
The restaurant has an outdoor terrace, and its menu combines local Black Sea and classic European cuisine.

Trails on Rosa Peak
Easy (green), medium difficulty (blue) and difficult (red) ski trails start from Rosa Peak:
- the easy route "Yavor" goes from the "Rose Peak" along the ridge to the southern slope. From the highway, you can turn to the red highway "Storozhka", the blue highways "Panorama" and "Horizon" and "Violet";
- medium difficulty "Goritsvet" and "Triton".
The highway "Goritsvet" connects the resorts "Rosa Khutor" and "Alpika". To the left of the Alpika trails are the red tracks of the southern slope, and to the right is the black (very difficult) Aibga track.
The Triton highway ends at an altitude of 1350 meters. During the descent, you can turn off the Triton highway and get to the red Virazh and Cascade highways;
- complex "Cascade" and "Primavera".
The Primavera highway is located at Rose Peak.
The Cascade highway ends at the Rose Stadium. At the end, it turns into the blue Nagano 98 highway and ends near the Wolf Rock ski lift.
Entertainment on Rosa Pik
In addition to the observation deck and ski slopes on Rosa Peak, there are several other entertainment options available:
- "Swing over the Clouds" is a high-altitude swing located on the edge of a picturesque gorge, swinging on which you can experience the feeling of weightlessness and flying over the abyss, as well as enjoy the opening panorama of the Caucasus mountains.
The swing above the clouds is open all year round, but depending on weather conditions. Restrictions: from 4 years, up to 120 kg. Entertainment is paid;
- "Suspension bridge". During the entertainment, you can walk over the abyss on a wooden suspension bridge.
Before visiting the attraction, an instruction is given, insurance, a helmet and gloves are issued.
The suspension bridge is available in the summer season. The small bridge is also available during the ski season.
Restrictions: from 140 cm. Entertainment is paid, payment is made on the spot;
- "Dawn on the highway", which includes a sunrise meeting at the top of Rosa Peak, during which you can see how the tracks are preparing for the opening.
The service "Dawn on the highway" is available on certain days in mini-groups of up to 5 people and in favorable weather.
The offer includes: cable car ascent to Rosa Peak from 6: 45 am; escort by a representative of the resort; breakfast at the restaurant "Height".
Restrictions: 16+. Entertainment is paid. Available by appointment;
- paragliding flights in the appropriate suitable weather;
- hiking and horseback riding along the ridge in the summer season.
Rose of the Peak-the connecting link
During the summer season, which usually begins from May 1 - June 1 (subject to change), the height of Rosa Peak can become a link for continuing walking around the Rosa Khutor resort:
- the mountain "Stone Pillar", which has an altitude of 2509 meters above sea level and is the highest observation point of the Aibga ridge in the mountain system of the Greater Caucasus in the North Caucasus.
From Rosa Peak to the observation deck on the mountain "Stone Pillar" can be reached on foot; or first go down on foot to the chairlift "Crocus", then go up on the lift and again walk a little;
- Mendelikha Waterfall Park, located on the southern slope of the Aibga ridge at an altitude of 1470 meters above sea level.
In the waterfall park: a cafe at the Edelweiss lift and 7 waterfalls-Mendel, Chervonny, Chara, Mishkin grotto, Yaya, Snow channel and Golden with a viewing platform over the abyss.
You can take a walk through the waterfall park along three routes: the small ring (the length of the route is 900 meters), the middle ring (the length of the route is 1.5 kilometers) and the big ring (the length of the route is 3 kilometers).
The routes are equipped with trails, steps, a bridge, there are benches and information stands.
The waterfall Park organizes special programs for children from 9 years old.
You can take a walk through the waterfall park by purchasing a walking ticket for all the gondola and chairlift cable cars of the resort. According to the tickets, you should first climb the Rosa Peak on the cable cars (Olympia, the Reserved Forest and the Caucasian Express), then go to the high-speed chairlift "Edelweiss" and descend on the latter. The park starts right at the bottom of the lift, there is a cafe here. The way back is the same, only in the opposite direction through Rosa Peak. A walking ticket, as a rule, also includes a high-speed chairlift "Wolf Rock", leading to the "Rosa Stadium", located at an altitude of 960 meters above sea level.
During a walk in the Mendelikha Waterfalls Park, it is recommended to have a passport with you, and birth certificates for children, since the park is located in the border zone with Abkhazia and they can check the document.
How to get to Rosa Peak
You can visit Rosa Peak using ski passes (for skiers and snowboarders) and walking tickets (without skiing).
The walking ticket includes 1 ascent and 1 descent during one day on three gondola (closed cabins) cable cars:
- "Olympia" - from Rosa Dolina (the lower station of the Rosa Khutor cable cars, located at an altitude of 560 meters above sea level in Esto-Sadka) in Mountain Olympic Village (1170 meters above sea level);
- "Zapovedniy les" - from the Mountain Olympic Village to the landing node of the station "Besedka", located at an altitude of 1350 meters above sea level;

Combined walking tickets may be valid, which, in addition to climbing Rosa Peak, may include various services and entertainment.
