Dubai Butterfly Garden

Butterfly Garden or Butterfly Park, literally translated: Dubai Butterfly Garden (Arabic name: حديقة الفراشات) is an indoor butterfly garden in Dubai, which claims to be the largest indoor garden of its kind in the world; the garden is also one of the visited Dubai attractions.

The garden was opened in 2015.

The Butterfly Garden consists of 10 purpose-built, climate-controlled indoor domes covering an area of 6,673 square meters.

The domes maintain a climate suitable for different types of butterflies, with temperatures ranging from 18 to 25 degrees Celsius.

The created environment is ideal for butterflies and plants in the garden.

The garden is home to over 15,000 butterflies representing over 45 species. There are butterflies of various sizes and colors.

To support the life of butterflies, plants and flowers are planted in the garden.

Also in the garden, conditions have been created for people to visit it: places for recreation, paths for movement, there are themed figurines.

All this makes the Dubai Butterfly Garden a bright oasis and a pearl not only of Dubai, but of the UAE and the region as a whole.

The Butterfly Garden has three climate zones that are home to various butterflies.

From a variety of butterflies:

- Anteos clorind is a well-known colophterous seryanka - a butterfly of the Pieridae family. Found in South America, Central America and southern North America;

-Archeoprepona demofon, one-spotted obstruction, striped royal cobbler or demophone cobbler is a butterfly belonging to the Nymphalidae family. This species can be found in Mexico, Central America, the West Indies and northern parts of South America;

- Antheos clorind common sergeant is a species of nymphalid butterfly found in South and Southeast Asia.

Butterflies in the garden quite easily sit on a person.

But it is not recommended to take them by the wings by force, since the wings of butterflies are very thin and easily deformed (broken), and when in contact with its wings, the natural coating (tiny scales) on the wings is erased, which leads to a quick death of the butterfly.

Take butterflies carefully and carefully. Slowly bring your hand to the paws of the butterfly and move your hand slightly, slightly touching her paws, and the butterfly itself, if it wants to, will sit on your hand.

The Butterfly Garden has a small koi pond in Dome 2 of the Dubai Butterfly Garden.

The garden has a children's area with a cinema and the opportunity to make themed crafts with your own hands.

Information and educational zones are also located in the garden.

In these zones, you can witness the real life cycle of a butterfly - from egg to caterpillar, and from chrysalis to adult butterfly - and get an idea of their metamorphosis. Visitors can also learn about the creatures' natural habitat and some facts about butterflies, such as that the Monarch Butterfly's wings, which span only 12 centimeters, are capable of carrying the Monarch over 3,000 miles, reaching heights of up to 1,500 feet; butterflies and moths live on all continents except Antarctica; about 18,000 species are present worldwide, most of which are found in Latin America and Southeast Asia; some of the more interesting butterfly species can be found in the Amazon, including Caligo Eurilochus, AKA Forest Giant Owl.
