Tavrichesky Garden - one of the most famous gardens (along with Mikhailovsky garden and Summer garden) in the central part of St. Petersburg.
The Tavrichesky Garden is a monument of landscape art; a public place for walking and recreation-admission is free (free).
The Tavrichesky Garden was one of the first landscape parks in St. Petersburg.
The formation of the garden took place in 1783-1800 according to the plans of the English garden master Ulyan William Gould, on the land that the Empress Catherine II gave to her favorite Prince Grigory Potemkin-Tavrichesky for the construction of a residence.
The garden was part of the ensemble of the Tauride Palace, built for the Count in the classicist style from 1783 to 1789 by the architect I. E. Starov. Today, the headquarters of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS member States is located in the palace building. There are also guided tours of the halls and rooms of the palace. The name "Tavrichesky", the garden and the palace were named after the title of Prince of Tavrichesky, which was granted to the temporary owner in 1787, after the annexation of the Crimea (Tavrida) to the Russian Empire.
The garden is separated from the Tauride Palace by a fence.

Under Gould's direction, canals and ponds were dug in the garden, and trees and shrubs were brought from England to decorate the garden.
During the history of the garden, the layout and size of the garden changed, and the greenhouse complex (greenhouses of the Tauride Garden) was also created.
In 1866, the garden was opened to the public and turned into a city park.
Since 1930 and for 10 years, the Tavrichesky Garden has existed as a park called "culture and recreation named after the First Five-year plan". The park was damaged during the Great Patriotic War; after that, the restoration of the park began according to the project of D. S. Golgor. In 1956, the park was returned to its historical name-the Tavrichesky Garden. In 1997-2001, the garden was reconstructed, during which the garden was restored using historical materials from the late 19th century.
Today, the Tavrichesky Garden is an example of landscape art in the English style, used as a public park for walking and recreation of citizens and guests of the city.

Once an integral part of the Tauride Garden were greenhouses intended for the cultivation of fruit and vegetable crops, as well as heat-loving deciduous and flowering plants.
During the history, in connection with the modification of the garden, the location of greenhouses went beyond the park. The palm greenhouse, which was located on the site of the current one, fell into disrepair at the end of the 1920s, was dismantled and transported to the Botanical Garden, where it is still located. Instead, in 1935, a greenhouse was installed, brought from the royal horticulture in Tsarskoye Selo (1900, architect A. Bach), which still exists today.
Anyone can visit the greenhouse. Entrance is paid. There is a cafe and a flower shop in the greenhouse; you can spend a date, a wedding and a photo shoot among the tropical greenery. Exhibitions, concerts, master classes and creative evenings are also held in the greenhouses.
