Palm Monorail, also known as Palm Jumeirah Monorail is a monorail line in Dubai that runs along the Palm Jumeirah Island and is itself Dubai Landmark.
The Dubai Palm Monorail opened in April 2009 and was the first monorail in the Middle East.
The monorail connects the man-made bulk Palm Jumeirah Island with the mainland. It has a length of about 5.5 kilometers and is the only public transport running on the Palm Jumeirah.
The monorail road runs over the central part of the entire island, including passing over the bay and stopping at the crescent of the Palm Jumeirah, near Atlantis The Palm

Palm Monorail connects the main attractions of the Palm Jumeirah and has 5 stops:
- the initial station "Palm Gateway", located on the mainland, at the entrance to the Palm Jumeirah;
- Al Ittihad Park stop, where the eponymous Al Ittihad Park, restaurants, and the Palm West Beach public long beach from the promenade;
- Nakheel Mall, where you can visit on your own Nakheel Mall and Palm Tower Skyscraper with a public observation deck at a height of 240 meters, an infinity pool and restaurants, and also go to Al Ittihad Park and Palm West Beach;
- The Pointe shopping and entertainment district, perched atop the Palm Jumeirah. Here are: dancing light and music fountain, in the evenings featuring breathtaking shows, a beach, a one and a half kilometer promenade, an entertainment area, as well as an abundance of shops, restaurants and cafes. Attention! Currently, The Point and the fountain are closed for renovation; the monorail does not make this stop. We recommend checking the information before visiting;
- the end station of Atlantis Aquaventure, where the embankment and 5-star Atlantis The Palm with large a water park with a dolphinarium and a beach, an aquarium, a diving center, an entertainment center, shops, restaurants and a spa center. You can visit Atlantis Complex with a water park, an aquarium and other places and services as if you were staying at the hotel itself , and having arrived at the water park for the day.
Platform sliding doors are installed at all stations of the monorail.
The monorail interval is 15 minutes.
The monorail runs daily: from 09:00 am from the Gateway station and from 09:15 am from the Atlantis Aquaventure station; until 21:45 from the Gateway station and until 22:00 from the Atlantis Aquaventure station.
The total duration of the trip on the monorail is approximately 9-12 minutes, and the trip to each station is about 3 minutes.
The price of monorail tickets varies depending on the stations - from which and to which you want to arrive. The cost starts from 5 dirhams.
You can immediately purchase round-trip tickets (there and back), so it will be more cost-effective.
There are also daily passes with an unlimited number of trips; family tickets for which up to 4 people from the same family can travel back and forth from the Palm Gateway station to the Atlantis Aquaventure station; monthly passes and season tickets for residents of Palm Jumeirah; as well as travel cards for residents of the UAE.
Free travel is provided for children if their height does not exceed 110 centimeters.
There is wheelchair access on the monorail. You can take luggage, bike/scooter. Pets are not allowed for transportation.
The monorail is not part of Dubai's public transport. This is a private transport owned by Nakheel.
Dubai travel cards, as well as general rules and tariffs for public transport on Dubai transport cards do not apply on the monorail. It is necessary to purchase separate tickets for the monorail, which can be purchased at the ticket offices at all stations of the monorail or online in advance on the website (the website is listed at the end of this article). The cost of tickets at the box office and online is the same.
You can pay for monorail tickets at the ticket office in cash, with bank cards (debit and credit), as well as with the NOL Dubai transport card, from which the full fixed fare set for the monorail will be debited.
If you have purchased round-trip tickets or a subscription, then you need to keep them until the end of the last trip, since the entrance and exits at the stations are carried out through turnstiles (tickets are checked).
P.S. If you did not buy a subscription for several trips, but a ticket to a certain station, then you will not be able to get off at another station, even if it is located before your stop. At the exit of the stations, tickets will be checked and, if your ticket is not to this station, you will be asked to purchase another ticket. You can purchase a ticket or return to the train and continue to the station of the purchased ticket.
You can get to the Gateway monorail station (the one on the mainland) by public buses or tram T1 to the Palm Jumeirah stop, which is connected to the station by a monorail pedestrian bridge.
You should first walk over the pedestrian bridge, and then through the parking lot following the signs directly to the station.

By metro (red line), you can get to Al Khail station or Dubai Internet City station, and then walk to the pedestrian bridge on the monorail.
There are plans to continue the monorail branch to the Dubai Internet City metro station.
Monorail users receive 3 hours of free Monorail Parking after ticket confirmation. After the 3rd hour of free parking, a parking fee is charged. You can also park in this parking lot for a fee without visiting the monorail.
