Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport named after Caravaggio (Aeroporto Internazionale di Orio al Serio), also known as Bergamo Airport is an international airport located in the Italian region of Lombardy, 4 kilometers from the center of Bergamo and 50 kilometers from the center of Milan.
This airport is assigned to Milan, therefore it is also called Milan-Bergamo Airport. Bus
The bus is the only public transport that can take you from Bergamo Airport to the center of Bergamo (or from the center of Bergamo to Bergamo Airport).
Buses run daily, with an interval of 20 minutes. Travel time is 15-25 minutes. The bus runs from Bergamo Airport to Chita Alta, stopping at the railway station and bus station of Bergamo, as well as the funicular station.

- from Chita Alta to the airport: from Monday to Friday from 06:41 to 21:05 hours; on Saturday from 06:41 to 22:51 hours; on Sundays and holidays from 07:00 to 21:22 hours;
- from Bergamo Train Station to the airport: from Monday to Friday from 05:00 to 00:09 hours; on Saturday from 05:00 to 00:02 hours; on Sunday and public holidays from 06:09 to 00:17 hours.
Tickets at the airport can be purchased at the ticket office located in the airport building, or at the tourist information center located at the right end of the hall, if you go to the main hall of the airport from the arrival area. You can also buy tickets at the vending machine at the bus stop or in the mobile application. The ticket price is 2.40 euros. The ticket can also be purchased at the vending machine, directly on the bus, but in this case the ticket will cost 3 euros, and coins or bank cards are accepted for payment.
One child up to one meter tall can travel on the bus for free for each adult.
On the bus, the ticket must be composted. Composters are located in the bus cabin. The ticket is valid for all types of public transport for 90 minutes from the moment of composting. The Bergamo city transport system also includes the Bergamo funicular, so that, if necessary, you can have time to travel by funicular. Conclusion: the later we post the ticket after boarding, the longer it will be valid, it is relevant in the case when the bus stops at the airport for 10 minutes, collecting passengers.
There are tickets for 24 hours, the cost is 3.50 euros without baggage and 5 euros with luggage; and for 72 hours - 7 euros.

Remark! Opposite Orio al Serio airport there is a large shopping center "Orio Center" (Oriocenter) in which, among other things, there is a supermarket where you can buy water and food at prices lower than in the airport building.
You can walk to the shopping center by following the signs. We leave the airport building, turn right, go straight, then (near the sign) turn left, go straight again, then right, go straight a little, turn left and cross the road, go down the path to the right and down into the underpass, leaving the crossing we cross the road and through the parking lot of the shopping center we go into the shopping center itself the center.
