Preysing Palace (Palais Preysing) is a mansion in the late Baroque style, which served as the residence of the counts of Preysing.
The mansion was built by the architect Josef Haffnera between 1723 and 1728 for the count Johann Maximilian IV Emanuel count von Preising (Johann Maximilian IV. Emanuel Graf von Preysing).
This mansion was the first of the Munich Palace in the Rococo style. The outer wall of the building was decorated with stucco.
The Palace was damaged during the Second world war. After it was restored according to old projects and now the building houses shops and offices.
One part of the Palace with a magnificent ceremonial staircase and the decorations of stucco is open for visitors.
Palace Pratinha, which is also called "the Oldest Palace of Praising" (Elder Palais Preysing), should be distinguished from Palace Neuhaus-Preising (Palais Neuhaus-Preysing), which is called the "New Palace of Praising" and which is located on the street Prannerstrasse (Prannerstraße). "Old" and "New" because the palaces were built at different times: the house on Prannerstrasse was built later, in 1737.
