Street Laietana, may be known as Laietana (Laietana Via) is a broad street located in the Old town of Barcelona between the Gothic quarter and sub-area of Sant Pere, Santa Caterina and La Ribera, from the promenade and the sea facing the area of Barceloneta, also being a part of Barcelona's Old town and famous for its beaches.

Called "Laietana" street was in honor of Limanov (Laietanii) - Iberian people who inhabited the region around Barcelona, Maresme, Valles and bays Llobregat.
The construction of the street was designed in 1879 and started in 1907, with the intent of connecting the Eixample district (Eixample) with Barcelona's seafront. For the construction of the street was demolished a number of houses, some of which belonged to the Medieval times. The construction of the Avenue was completed in 1930-ies.
The architecture of the street reflects the aesthetic ideals of the period and the various political regimes. The style of some of the buildings has no other referent in Barcelona and much more similar with a common architecture inherent in Madrid.
