Italian courtyard in Saint Petersburg

There are interesting courtyards in St. Petersburg - these are courtyards that are located between the houses and some of which are decorated (or painted) on various themes, for example: mosaic courtyard, chess courtyard, Chinese courtyard, bird courtyard, Paris courtyard, etc.

One of the most striking and picturesque is the Italian Courtyard.

Italian Courtyard is located in the center of St. Petersburg, on Italian Street, near Nevsky Prospekt - one of the most visited and beautiful streets of the city.

In the Italian courtyard, the walls of the houses are painted with graffiti with views of the beautiful sunny Italy: on one wall is the Roman Colosseum, and on the other - the bright facades of classic Italian houses.

Under the image of the Colosseum, surrounded by thickets of ivy, there is a small pseudo-fountain, above which is a metal tree with red flowers.

The territory of the yard is well maintained. In the courtyard there are two flower beds with decorative shrubs, lanterns and places to relax, there is a small Playground.

The whole atmosphere of the Italian Courtyard is conducive to peace and relaxation.

The project of painting the courtyard was not initially agreed with the officials, and they demanded that it be painted in the standard colors of St. Petersburg houses, but the residents defended their yard.

Today, the Italian Courtyard is a popular place among tourists and is included in the lists of unofficial attractions of the city.
