Iskele Mosque (Iskele camii) is a small but significant mosque in Antalya, which looks quite unusual and has an interesting feature.
Iskele Mosque is located in the heart of Antalya - in old port (yacht harbor) the old town of Kaleichi.
Due to its location, the mosque is also called a port shrine.
Despite its modest size, the mosque is an important tourist attraction and one of the symbols of the city.
The mosque was built in the 19th century, when a spring was discovered in this place, which is considered a good sign.
The mosque attracts attention with its non-standard configuration. It has a hexagonal structure made of polished stone, a small cute minaret and rests on columns (corners of the structure), so it seems as if the mosque is floating in the air.
There is a small underground spring spring on the ground between the columns.
There is a rumor that if you make the most cherished wish and throw a coin into the spring, then the dream will certainly come true!
The second (first full-fledged) floor of the mosque has large arched windows, and you can get inside, where the modest prayer hall of the mosque is actually located, by an external staircase located on the eastern side of the building.
The entrance to the Iskele Mosque and to the source are free.
