Ataturk's House Museum (Turkish name: Antalya Ataturk Evi ve Muzesi) is a museum in Antalya, the exposition of which is dedicated to the visits of the famous revolutionary and the first president of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk to the city.
Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk visited Antalya several times: in 1930, 1931 and 1935.
During his visits, Ataturk stayed in a two-story mansion belonging to the governor of the province.
In 1984, the building was transferred to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for conversion into a house museum. The building had to be demolished as part of a project to expand city streets; after which the house was built in its former replica and in the same place. In 1986, the Ataturk Museum opened to the public.
Now the Ataturk House Museum is located in the same reconstructed two-story rectangular mansion with recreated rooms with furniture.
On the lower floor of the mansion there is a photo exhibition about Ataturk's visits to Antalya and a room where you can watch documentaries about Ataturk and Antalya, a dining room and an office.
On the upper floor there is a room where Ataturk's personal belongings are displayed; there is also a conference room, offices and a bedroom.
In addition to the above, the Ataturk Museum has a special section where commemorative coins, banknotes and postage stamps issued since the proclamation of the Republic are displayed.
