Along the waterfront of the port are some of the important sights of the city:

- castle of Santa Margherita Ligure 16th century;

- the Church of the Capuchin friars of the 17th century;

- Church of Sant Erasmo (Oratorio di Sant'erasmo), which contains models of ships and collected items that belonged to the fishermen who inhabited this area;

- the parish church of San Giacomo di Corte, or the temple of Our Lady of the Letter (Chiesa di S. Giacomo / Santuario di Nostra Signora della Lettera) of the 17th century, located a bit higher from the promenade and the port;

Mol Foraneo separates the port from the southern part of the coast of Santa Margherita Ligure. Boats moor on one side of the pier, there are cafes and restaurants, and on the other there are beaches.

In the southern end of the port, near the Monument to Umberto I, busy part of the promenade ends. Further, along the road leading to Portofino, lies a narrow sidewalk, where you can also Hiking.
