Remains of the Prince's Tower in Munich (Prinzessturm)

The Prinz Tower (German: Prinzessturm), was a circular gun tower, part of Munich's second defensive system.

Today, the Prince's Tower is a small remains of the former city fortifications of Munich.

Princesstard was mentioned in 1473 and 1490 and was once the tower of Ablinga (Scheiblingturm). Since the 19th century, it is called a "Tower Prince," without any specific historical references.

The tower was demolished in 1892.

The foundations of the tower of the Prince and the former city walls was discovered during construction works in 1987-1988.

Today, small remnants of the tower are open to the public.

Close to a tower the Prince can find two more historical evidence of the former fortifications of the city of Munich. This:

- house Winderemere (Vindelikerhaus), in the South wall of which is embedded the remnants of the former watchtower Lyuga (Lueg ins Land);

- Izar City Gate (Isartor), part of the premises which now houses the Museum, Carla Valentine.
