Moulin Rouge, Paris - famous cabaret

Moulin Rouge is a legendary cabaret in Paris, which offers guests one of the most famous shows in the world.

The cabaret was built in 1889 for the start of the World's Fair in Paris and the completion of the Eiffel Tower.

The name "Moulin Rouge", which literally translates as "Red Mill", was given to the cabaret by a wooden mill with red wings, created by the decorator Leon-Adolphe Villette. The red color of the mill's wings hinted at the red light district.

The Moulin Rouge establishment was rapidly gaining popularity, where the main attraction was the famous cancan - an energetic and frank erotic French dance with a demonstration of women's underwear. The cabaret was attended by representatives of the middle class and aristocrats.

In 1893, one of the Cabaret dancers completely undressed for the first time on the stage of the Moulin Rouge, which testified to the first performance of a striptease.

Today, the Moulin Rouge cabaret is one of the popular attractions and one of the symbols of Paris, and the mill on the facade of the building is one of the two surviving mills of the hill and the Montmartre district in Paris, the second windmill is the Moulin de la Galette.

The auditorium of the cabaret is designed for more than 800 people.

Today, on the stage of the Moulin Rouge cabaret, you can see a colorful and bright show "Extravaganza" (Feerie), performed by a troupe of about 100 people dressed in chic handmade costumes made of feathers, rhinestones and sequins.

The artists perform, among other things, the famous French cancan.

Anyone can attend the show, for this it is necessary to purchase tickets for the show in the cabaret.

You can buy simple tickets or those that include dinner.

The cabaret has a strict dress code. The visit is possible for persons from 6 years old accompanied by adults.

It is better to come to the cabaret in advance. The cabaret doors close 10 minutes before the show starts.
