The Old Catholic Church of St. Willibrord (Alt-Kath. Kirche St. Willibrord) - formerly the English Church of St. George , is a small neo-Gothic raw brick building built by Heinrich Bergthold in 1911-1913.
June 1, 1911, English Bishop Bury laid the Foundation of the Church for English-speaking people of the Anglican faith in Munich. They were mostly Embassy staff of the British mission at the Bavarian court.
The Church was consecrated in honor of St. George. In the beginning of the First world war, the British representative left Bavaria, and the Church was passed to the Catholic community of Munich.
During the history the Church was rebuilt, including rebuilt in a simplified form after the devastation of world war II.
Today the architectural style of the Church with exposed brick walls reminiscent of the English country Church.
The interior of the Church is simple. The Church is the body.
Saint Willibrord Church is located on the southeastern edge of the historic old town of Munich, near the former city fortifications, at: Blumenstrasse, 36 (Blumenstraße).
