El Arenal (Spanish name El Arenal, Catalan - L'Arenal) is officially in the Mallorcan dialect sounds like S'Arenal is a resort town located between the district Forest Maravelias (North-West side of the coast) and Son Verí Nou (on the South side of the coast), approximately 12 kilometres from the centre of Palma de Mallorca.

Administratively, El Arenal is divided between two districts: Palma North-Western part of the city and Llucmajor - southern part of the city. The border division is the stream bed of Torrent des Jueus.

Arenal, once a former fishing village, now a popular tourist area with two beach areas, a Marina and a developed tourist infrastructure with an abundance of cafes, restaurants and accommodation facilities.

S'Arenal Beach (Platja S'Arenal)

The eponymous S'arenal beach is the main beach of the city. It is located between the port Club Nautic s'arenal and the river of Torrent des Jueus, and belongs to the municipality of Llucmajor.

The length of the beach is about 300 meters. The beach is wide and sandy, the sand is a nice bright color has a high density. Besides, it is a very picturesque beach, on the beach grow high Palami, giving a bit of shade on hot summer days.

Sea water is clean and clear, sandy bottom, gradual depth.

In the high season on the beach-Arenal has all the necessary infrastructure: sunbeds and parasols (two loungers and an umbrella from 16,50 euros), urns and soul, dedicated place for water and beach activities, there are monitoring services and access for people with disabilities.

On the beach has enough space to accommodate personal towel.

Along the beach are the promenade and passing by the road along which recreational places, cafes, restaurants and retail outlets.

Playa de Palma (Platja de Palma)

Playa de Palma or the beach of Palma - the longest and one of the most popular beaches of the municipality of Palma.

The beach is part of the same large coastal area of Dress de Palma (Platja de Palma) and covers the coast of the three resort areas: can Pastilla - North-Western tip of the beach, the Les Meravelles - Central part of the beach and El Arenal- the South-Eastern extremity of the beach.

On the beach of light sand, from loose to more dense. Sea water is clean, sandy bottom, depth comes rather abruptly.

In the high beach season in Playa de Palma has all the necessary infrastructure: sunbeds and sun umbrellas (beach chair or umbrella 6 euros), urn, soul, beach cafes, bars, playgrounds, a dedicated area for water activities, there are monitoring services and access for people with disabilities.

Marina

The Marina of El Arenal is a small port at Club Nautic s'arenal, located in the southern tip of the coast of S'arenal.

The club offers the possibility to practice water sports, also there are sports sailing competitions, among which are the annual March race Regata S. A. R. Princesa Sofia (la Regata S. A. R. Princesa Sofia).

Attractions and entertainment in El Arenal and the surrounding area

To treat attractions of El Arenal can not. The city is the Church of our lady of Lachance (Parroquia Ntra. Sra de la Laconcia), the first stone of which was laid February 25, 1896, and on 12 July of the same year was opened the first part of the Church. All work was completed in 1902, and the Shrine had the neo-Gothic style.

Due to the demographic growth of the population of the city, places in the walls of the Church was not reaching all members and, in consequence of which, in 1969 work was begun on the extension and reconstruction of the Church with the existing building. The new Church opened its doors in 1971.

The patron Saint is San Cristobal, whose celebration is celebrated in July.

The Eastern edge of the city is the water Park Aqualand, the largest water Park in Mallorca. In the water Park: an area for children, a relaxation area, a roller coaster of adrenaline and quiet slopes.

Bars and pubs. Bars, pubs and clubs and there in the Arenal, however, for the General atmosphere of the beer boom and fun is to go to the neighbouring resort of Les-Mariveles, where:

- following in a North-westerly direction, along the embankments along the beaches equipped and the Hiking trails to reach the capital of the island Palma de Mallorca;

- going along the southern coast of the municipality of Llucmajor, you can enjoy secluded coves, rocky coast and stunning views of the Mediterranean sea.

How to get to El Arenal: taxi; car; bus from Palma No. 15, 23 (passes the Aqualand water Park), 25 and 31, from the airport to No. 21 and A51.
